One industry insider details what to expect from an upcoming reveal trailer for the next NFS game, dubbed Need for Speed Unbound.

There have been plenty of Need for Speed rumors for weeks now, but the latest seemingly details what fans can expect from it as far as the title, trailer, and some of its features. The next title is reportedly called Need for Speed Unbound and should receive its trailer within the next two weeks (by October 13, give or take).

Fans are clearly excited about a new Need for Speed game, if the reaction to rumors is anything to go by. After all, Need for Speed fans swarmed a recent Dragon Age post by EA in a manner reminiscent of the old demands for Skate 4. It’s hard to say which rumors are legit and which have just been cooked up by fans, but there have been some coming from Tom Henderson, a known and reliable insider. Everything about Need for Speed Unbound should be taken with a grain of salt, but given this is from Henderson’s Insider Gaming, it’s more reliable than any old rumor tossed around on social media.

Need for Speed Unbound has faced behind-the-scenes delays, but the reveal is now said to be forthcoming. The trailer is said to be around 1 minute and 30 seconds long, featuring music by American rapper A$AP Rocky. It’s uncertain what the trailer will show, but Need for Speed Unbound gameplay leaks detail how it works in anime elements by having fire, smoke, flames, and more appear from the car in an animated fashion. Fans will also get a look at the new setting, which is said to have maps unique to the Need for Speed franchise, and it’s likely to focus on the game’s multiplayer emphasis.

It is said to be multiplayer-heavy and feature a mechanic called Meetups, where p[layers can race each other in different locations around Need for Speed Unbound‘s map. Furthermore, this reveal trailer is said to reveal Need for Speed Unbound‘s release date to be December 2, 2022, which would mean it releases the same day as The Callisto Protocol. Henderson’s sources also claim that it is for current-gen consoles only, meaning there will be no PS4 or Xbox One version of the game.

Fans should never judge a book by its cover, and given that fans have less than that for Need for Speed Unbound, it’s hard to say what one can fully expect from the game. However, it’ll hopefully live up to the hype that already surrounds it.

Need for Speed Unbound is reportedly in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
