Dares of Eternity dropped into Destiny 2 with Bungie’s 30th Anniversary Expansion which was released in December 2021. Now a year later, Bungie has given all the weapons new life via adding in an Origin trait, as well as making all of them potentially craftable provided players meet the right conditions.

With weapon crafting players are able to level up the weapon and select perks they want on them, reducing the need for farming god rolls. The original Dares of Eternity weapons were fantastic when first released, given the player had a good roll. And now that they’re back with enhanced perks in Destiny 2, it’s definitely a good idea to come back and grab them again.

New Origin Perk: Hot Swap

As Dares of Eternity had it’s weapons re-released, they also come with their new origin trait, Hot Swap. Hot Swap allows players to gain a massive buff in handling for the weapon, provided they’re heavily damaged first. This perk can be useful in PvE, but is incredible in PvP where handling becomes a vital stat for any weapon. This alone may be enough to entice PvP players to come back to grab another weapon.

BxR-55 Battler Crafting

One of the better weapons of the group, the BxR-55 Battler is an incredible pulse rifle that is an absolute workhorse in PvP.

Weapon Type: Pulse Rifle

Archetype: 450 RPM

Element: Solar

Perpetual Motion + Kill Clip: This roll is the most popular version of the weapon, Perpetual Motion allows for players to maintain stability and handling whilst moving with the weapon, which is particularly useful when strafing left and right in PvP. Kill Clip is just a no-brainer, having a damage perk in PvP could be the difference between a 3 burst and a 2 burst, which significantly reduces the weapons TTK and makes it incredibly effective at taking out other guardians.

Demolitionist + Incandescent: While the above roll is considered a PvP god roll, this roll is definitely more for PvE players. Demolitionist is just a fantastic perk all around, especially with the increased reliance on grenades for builds in the Subclass 3.0 meta. It allows players to generate grenade energy which each takedown, while also giving them a free reload if they toss a grenade. Incandescent works well in PvE due to the nature of the perk, being able to ignite and potentially combust any enemy makes clearing through ADs so much easier. Generally speaking pulse rifles aren’t used for AD clear, but Incandescent is still by far this weapon’s best perk

Pardon Our Dust Crafting

Pardon Our Dust is a lightweight grenade launcher, which typically in Destiny 2 is used as a Blinding Grenades weapon. Being craftable, Pardon Our Dust can be a pretty reliable source of Blinding Grenades whilst also coming with some pretty good rolls as well.

Weapon Type: Special Grenade Launcher

Archetype: 90 RPM

Element: Kinetic

Blinding Grenades + Autoloading Holster + Vorpal Weapon: This roll is more specifically used for higher-end content, Blinding Grenades are just absolutely ridiculous against high-level targets like majors. Blinding an enemy essentially makes them useless against the player until the effect wears off. Autoloading is helpful on this weapon as it lessens the need to actively have to reload the weapon after firing. Finally, Vorpal Weapon helps it deal bonus damage to higher-level targets which is exactly what Pardon Our Dust would be used for. All in all this is just a superb roll for the weapon that fits exactly what this weapon is useful for.

Ambitious Assassin + Rampage/ Vorpal Weapon: Blinding Grenades may be incredibly useful in some scenarios, they heavily reduce the weapon’s blast radius which makes it inefficient at clearing ADs. Conversely, this is the roll players will want if they’re looking to clear out large groups of enemies with Pardon Our Dust. Ambitious Assassin allows the player to overload the weapon when reloading after a kill. Rampage/ Vorpal Weapon is just a neat damage perk that is a nice bonus to this roll. Pardon Our Dust isn’t the greatest weapon for AD clear, for that players should look to the Vow of the Disciple raid weapons instead.

Wastelander M5

Wastelander M5 is a pellet shotgun that is good in both PvP and PvE contexts. It’s got some fantastic rolls that, paired alongside its new origin trait Hot Swap makes it a rather deadly weapon.

Weapon Type: Pellet Shotgun

Archetype: 80 RPM

Element: Kinetic

Slideshot + Opening Shot: A roll that’s great for PvP, Slideshot boosts both the range and stability while also reloading the weapon after a slide. By far the most popular way for players to use shotguns is to slide and shoot, as it closes the distance to the target while reducing their hitbox. This makes Slideshot a fantastic perk on a shotgun like Wastelander M5 as it can really utilise the boost in range. Opening Shot is another fantastic perk that grants both range and aim assist on the first shot. Most of the time shotguns in Destiny 2 will only need one shot to kill another guardian, making Opening Shot incredibly effective. Overall this perk is the go-to PvP version of the weapon and the pair together make a particularly lethal combo.

Lead From Gold + One Two Punch: This roll is the one players will want if they’re using it primarily in PvE. Lead From Gold is a great utility perk that also gives ammo to the weapon if a heavy brick is picked up. One Two Punch is a niche perk that increases the player’s next melee if all pellets of the shotgun land. In the Season of the Plunder with Arc 3.0 being released, Hunters in particular will want a shotgun with One Two Punch. Hunters have access to Combination Blow, which increases melee damage massively. For other classes this perk isn’t quite as effective but this roll makes this weapon still an effective PvE option.

The Other Half

The Other Half is by far one of the most sought-after weapons in all of Destiny 2. With a drop rate lower than some raid exotics The Other Half is the rare version of the more common sword called Half Truths. Known for its distinctive purple color, most Destiny 2 veterans will see this weapon and either be in awe, or welcome the player as one of their own. Alongside this, this sword can roll with the perk Eager Edge, which is one of the best movement perks in the game.

Weapon Type: Sword

Archetype: N/A

Element: Void

Eager Edge + Vorpal Weapon/ Whirlwind Blade/ Frenzy: Eager Edge is the only perk that players should look for on this weapon. It is probably one of the few reasons any player should look to get this weapon in the first place. Vorpal Weapon is generally the best damage perk for the sword as it’s mainly used for taking down majors and bosses, but Whirlwind Blade/ Frenzy are both decent perks as well.
