Cyberpunk 2077 received the Edgerunner update, also called the 1.6 update by some players, and didn’t only include items to celebrate the release of the Edgerunner Netflix series. It also had a variety of other changes and additions to improve the gameplay for those still exploring Night City.

As the biggest update yet, players have been enjoying Cyberpunk once more with many of the fans’ wants and wishes being fulfilled through this update. However, it was also announced that this would be the last update that players who have been enjoying the RPG on last-gen consoles will receive, after this any future updates will only be on PC and next-gen consoles.

10 Customization Makeover

In previous updates players were finally able to customize their character again after the beginning of the game by going up to their mirror in their apartment, this has been changed once more to create a more immersive experience.

Players will now go to the mirror to only change their hairstyle, which has had some new variants, as well as make-up. Ripperdocs can now be visited for reconstruction surgery, allowing a player to change up the entirety of their V’s look, and it doesn’t cost a single eddie.

9 New Knife Categories

Some late Spring cleaning has also occurred as CD Projekt Red has also reordered their melee weapon variety. With a wide range of new melee weapons being added with the Edgerunner update, the knife section has expanded to reveal lots of different types of knives.

To combat the confusion some players may have about the differences between these weapons, the long knife category has been removed and instead replaced with the machete and axe categories. Both of these already have a fair number of weapons in them.

8 Interesting Arcade Mini-Game

Although it isn’t actually a big change, it has changed what can be interacted with inside the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Any players that have found themselves walking the streets of Night City or own any of the other apartments there will have noticed a familiar Horse on an arcade machine.

Roach Race is an entertaining mini-game players can enjoy, where they must avoid obstacles as Roach attempts to run away from Geralt. Ranking high on the in-game leaderboard also gives the player a chance to win cash prizes as well as other items. The game can also be installed on a player’s real-life mobile though the high scores are not linked.

7 Preview Clothes Before Buying Them

Fashion is another important element that surrounds Cyberpunk 2077, with so many clothing stores around Night City that provided different styles for players to dress their V in. It was strange that players had no way to see what it would look like on their character without buying it.

Well, wasting eddies is a thing of the past as players can now preview what a clothing item looks like on their character without the need to buy it. Previewing an item will open a small window that shows a player’s V wearing that item, and then they can decide if to purchase it or not.

6 Replacing Some Perks

Update 1.5 saw the perk trees in Cyberpunk change drastically, as perks were replaced with others or moved into different sections, as well as renamed to better fit their purpose. The recent update saw even more changes happen to these perk trees but on a minor scale than before.

Further changes have been made to the Ninjutsu tree such as the two new perks, Corrosive Poison, and Critical Antidote. These have replaced the Hasten the Inevitable and Neurotoxin perk. As well as rebalancing to some others.

5 Sleeping Is No Longer Random

Another seemingly small change that has been done to the game involves allowing V to sleep in their home. Players that are searching for an immersive RPG experience may have used the bed to skip forward time to spend time in Night City during the day.

However, before 1.6 the time V slept for couldn’t be altered, this has since been changed to work like the wait timer, so players can decide how much beauty sleep their V gets. Finally allowing this tormented mercenary to either get as little as one hour of sleep or a whole twenty-four-hour slumber.

4 Even More Photo mode Features

Once again players have been gifted with a variety of new poses to use in the game’s photo mode. However, this time it doesn’t include V but instead focuses on the tiny hairless cat players can find after persuading it with cat food.

Nibbles is an adorable addition to any player’s apartment though it can now be made ten times better as players can now freely pose Nibbles wherever they wish for photos. There are some adorable poses with hilarious names for players to test their photography skills.

3 Performance Mode For Xbox Series S

While many other platforms have already seen the presence of a performance mode, Xbox Series S finally received its own during the Edgerunner update. Players that are enjoying their copy of Cyberpunk on the Xbox Series S can find this setting by going into their video settings in-game and then to the graphics mode.

CD Projekt Red claims that this mode aims for 60fps in 900p with dynamic resolution scaling, therefore providing a higher quality enjoyable experience as well as smoother gameplay.

2 Cross-Progression Saves

Transferring saves is now also finally available across different platforms instead of just generations through Cyberpunk’s inclusion of Cloud saving. Now players that may wish to experience their save from their PS4 can now also enjoy it if they have the PC version of the title also, as well as any other platform available.

As long as a player has logged into their GOG account in the game, the player’s last save will also be saved onto the Cloud for them to use. This may become incredibly handy once players may begin to transfer away from the older generation consoles but still want to keep their saves.

1 Make Outfit Presets At The Wardrobe

By far one of the greatest and most asked-for changes has finally arrived in the game in this update. As mentioned fashion has always been an important and crucial part of Cyberpunk, however with the need for better armor, this made for some pretty embarrassing outfits.

Players can now go to their wardrobe in their apartment and set up outfit presets from pieces of clothing they have unlocked. This means V can still have the best armor around while looking stylish and allows players to play their V how they want with transmog.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
