Episode 3 of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+ has arrived and what an awesome journey it took us on. The episode takes us to our third planet of the series so far–Mapuzo, a new location in Star Wars lore–and includes plenty of action, intrigue, more little Leia, so much Darth Vader, and even a nod to a character last seen in The Clone Wars.
Warning: The following contains spoilers for the third episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi, “Part III.” If you’ve yet to watch this installment, stop reading now.
In “Part III,” Obi-Wan and Leia escape to Mapuzo, but the Empire is hot on their heels. And the Inquisitors aren’t traveling alone. Darth Vader journeys with them to the planet in search of Kenobi, leading to an epic showdown that shows just how much has changed in the power balance between Obi-Wan and his former apprentice in the 10 years since Revenge of the Sith.
It should be noted that this episode goes out of its way to make Vader a truly horrifying character, essentially treating him like the galaxy’s boogie man–something that doesn’t happen all too often. It works like a charm here, as this is the scariest the Sith Lord has been in quite a while.
Naturally, there are also plenty of Easter eggs and references to other characters, events, and locations throughout the Star Wars franchise that we were able to pick up on. Take a look at them below, then make sure you check out the Easter eggs from the first two episodes.
